Maryam Deyhim is a contemporary artist and Associate of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists whose work has been exhibited internationally across the UK, Europe, the United States, the Middle East, and Asia. Her exhibitions include the Royal Academy of Arts, the Royal West of England Academy, Mall Galleries, and the Alexandria Museum of Art. She is the recipient of the RBSA Judd Medical Third Prize and has received international recognition, including a highly commended distinction in the Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize and finalist selections at Art Revolution Taipei. Her practice engages painting and drawing as visual storytelling.

Maryam’s work is shaped through pattern, repetition, and carefully structured composition. The paintings bring together symbolic elements and visual rhythms that suggest narratives without fixing them in place.

A balance between order and variation allows small shifts and interruptions to keep the work open. Rather than directing a single reading, the images invite viewers to spend time, noticing connections and forming their own interpretations.

For Maryam, painting is a way of working through complexity while keeping the outcome unresolved, holding structure and openness at the same time.
